• Name of Society : The Uttar Pradesh Rural Engineering Services Gazetted Engineer's Benevolent Fund Society

• Aims and objects :
  • To relieve distress of the dependents of the member engineers who expire during the service of the U.P. Rural Engineering Services Department.
  • To help the members discharged from service due to permanent disability before the due date of retirement.
  • To prepare and execute other welfare schemes for member engineers.
  • To provide loan at minimum interest rate for the treatment of serious illness of members or member's spouse & children.
• Definition :
  • 'Society' shall mean "Uttar Pradesh Rural Engineering Services Gazetted Engineer's Benevolent Fund Society".
  • 'Gazetted Engineer' shall mean Engineer officer appointed under the U.P. Rural Engineering Department, who may be on deputation to any other department but holds lien to U.P. Rural Engineering Department.
  • 'Executive' shall mean that management body which shall be organized as per prescribed rules.
• Members and Membership : All the Engineer officers of the U.P. Rural Engineering Services Department shall be eligible for the membership of the scheme who subscribe to the Society.
  • Membership fee will be ₹ 2000/- payable in single installment. Membership fee may be enhanced by the approval of the general body.
  • Any engineer officer member who wishes to discontinue his membership must request in writing to the president of managing committee.
  • Membership shall get automatically ceased on retirement of a member.
• Benevolent Fund : The fund shall be raised in the following manner:
  • The membership fees of "U.P. Rural Engineering Services Gazetted Engineer's Benevolent Fund Society".
  • From the interest of the fixed deposits of the fund.
  • Voluntary donations by the serving or retired Engineers of Rural Engineering Department.
  • Subscription as a member under any one of these assistance scheme viz. Chief Assistance scheme (₹ 50,000.00)/ Principal Assistance scheme (₹ 1,25,000.00). Subscription amount in all the assistance schemes may be enhanced by the approval of the general body.
  • Voluntary donations from persons/organizations other than the officers of Rural Engineering Department will be accepted with the prior concurrence of the president or management committee.
• General Body : There shall be a General Body which shall consist of following:
  All the members shown in Para 6 shall form General body.
  The General Body shall meet once in a year. The notice of the meeting shall be given at least 10 days before the meeting. The quorum of the meeting shall be 2/3rd.
  Powers and Duties:
  • i. To pass annual budget.
  • ii. To pass annual report.
  • iii. To elect Management Committee.
  • iv. Terms of Managing Committee-Five Years.
  • v. In special circumstances the term of Management Committee will be extended for one more year.
  • vi. President will be personally responsible for the formation of new management committee before expiry of Existing Management Committee tenure.
  • vii. Outgoing management committee will continue the business of society till the formation of new management committee.
  • viii. Registration of Benevolent fund society will be renewed after every five years by the Registrar Society, UP, Vikasdeep Bhavan Charbagh Road Lucknow. Outgoing Management Committee will complete this job before handing over their charge to new Management committee.
  Terms of Managing Committee: Minimum five years, can be extended for one more year.
